Benalmadena with the family: tips for a funny holiday

benalmadena en familia

Benalmádena is one of the most suitable coastal towns in Malaga for family travel. There are many plans that the city offers so that you don’t have a single minute of boredom. In addition, this year the City Council has launched the #BenalmádenaNiñosGratis campaign by which children under 12 years of age will have free access to many of these attractions, all of them adapted to the “new reality” and its security measures. Below we highlight seven plans to have fun this summer in Benalmadena as a family.

Dolphin watching and much more in Selwo Marina

Location: Parque de la Paloma s/n, Benalmádena. Horario: de 10.00 a 18.00 h.

Selwo Marina is an extensive aquatic fauna park that allows you to move from the warm waters of the Caribbean to the icy ones of Antarctica. The water park has more than 30 attractions, among which the dolphinarium stands out, or the penguin enclosure, where the little ones can see these nice birds being fed.

Hallucinate with the views from the Cable Car

Location: Explanada del Tivoli, s/n. Benalmádena (Málaga) Schedule: from 11.00 to 18.00 h.

Only suitable for people without vertigo, the Benalmádena Cable Car is one of our favorite attractions, not only for the adventure of riding, but for the amazing views that, of the entire coast, are seen from the moment the cabin begins to lift up the flight. Located in front of the Tivoli amusement park, the Benalmádena Cable Car will take you to the top of Mount Calamorro, from where you can even see the African coast on clear days. Once there, there are many routes that you can do in the area.

Enjoy its nine kilometers of beach

Obviously, the beach is one of the main attractions of a visit to Benalmádena. Equipped with a beautiful promenade full of places to eat, have an ice cream or a drink, Arroyo de Miel Beach is a beach with all the necessary services to enjoy an incredible day of sun and sand. In addition, it has several areas to practice water sports. All the city’s beaches are accessible from its promenade, which practically crosses the town from one side to the other.

Have fun in Puerto Marina

Restaurants, shops, cafes, ice cream parlors, leisure areas, and even visit the Sea Life Benalmádena aquarium. Puerto Marina is one of the leisure places with the greatest offer on the entire Costa del Sol. In the enclosure you can admire the boats moored in its marina, and you can even enjoy a ride on many of them at sunset. In addition, there are many restaurants that offer options for the whole family, as well as a children’s area where you can enjoy small attractions adapted for the little ones.

A super fun late night in Tivoli

Location: Avda. Tívoli, s/n. Benalmádena. Horario: 17.30-01.30h

The Tivoli Amusement Park is a must for families spending their holidays on the Costa del Sol. The park has 30 attractions adapted for all ages, especially for the little ones in the house. In addition to the attractions, you can enjoy performances and numerous themed restaurants that are spread throughout the venue, among parks and gardens where you can rest. The Tivoli amusement park has also taken part in the #BenalmádenaGratisconNiños promotion, with which admission for children under 12 years of age is free.
