The last week of February is synonymous in the province of Malaga with school holidays, and many families take advantage to enjoy these days off. Museums, carnivals, outdoor activities … We offer five proposals to enjoy this Semana Blanca in Malaga.

Participate in the children’s workshops of the museums of Malaga

Once again, the Thyssen Museum in Malaga has prepared the ‘Semana Blanca Museum’ program for boys and girls from 5 to 12 years old who want to enjoy holidays surrounded by art. On this occasion, the activity is named ‘Backstage’ and will take place on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday February 26 with the theme of the circus as the main focus of the tasks that will be carried out every morning.

The Picasso Museum in Malaga has organized a children’s camp that will take place from Monday 24 to Thursday 27 February from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

With art and painting as the central axis of the workshops, other topics such as science, technology and architecture will also be discussed. The activities are aimed at children from 4 to 15 years old, who will be able to put into practice different techniques while also knowing Pablo Picasso’s works closely.

The Birthplace of Picasso or the Russian Museum also offers special activities on this occasion.

Enjoy the Carnivals of Malaga

During the days of Semana Blanca, children can enjoy multiple free activities within the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Carnival of Malaga.

Every afternoon, from Monday 24 to Thursday 27, the kids can enjoy in the historic center of children’s workshops and couplet carousel. During the weekend, there will be numerous horseback riding, competitions and activities that will be held for the whole family to enjoy.

Enjoy the Antonio Banderas Promenade and its play areas

From the Sacaba area to Huelin, the Antonio Banderas Promenade extends along the Playa de la Misericordia along 2,000 meters combining the promenade itself, bike lanes, and numerous playgrounds for children of all ages.

The Paseo also offers an interesting gastronomic offer with cafes, beach bars, hamburger chains or pizzerias.

Walking along the Antonio Banderas Promenade, we find several points of interest. First we mention the Statue of the Espetero. This represents a man doing this very Malaga work of spitting sardines.

Several monoliths are found near this statue in honor of different Spanish actors and actresses, vestige of the annual celebration of the Spanish Film Festival of Malaga.

Ziplines and tree parks

In Malaga is Altittude, the largest trampoline park in Europe.
