Christmas in Malaga has a special charm. Every year, thousands of travellers choose the city to experience festivities full of colour, tradition, gastronomy and a climate that allows for leisurely strolls. Every day in the evening, there is an illuminated musical show: the lights change, flash and “dance” to Christmas songs.
The show lasts a few minutes, but the atmosphere before and after is part of the experience.
The show takes place every two hours. This year, the times are: 6:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Between shows, Larios remains permanently lit so that people can stroll around at their leisure.
An audiovisual animation is projected onto the side façade (next to Postigo de los Abades Street).
The projection combines music and visual effects that transform the façade into a moving Christmas ‘story’.
It is repeated several times every evening, at the same time as the light show on Calle Larios.
Muelle Uno dresses up for Christmas with craft stalls, decorations, music and sea views that you won’t find anywhere else. You’ll find gifts, local products, accessories, sweets and a very relaxed atmosphere for strolling both day and night.
The promenade next to the Palmeral de las Sorpresas, with boats, lights and the sound of the sea, makes it an essential stop during this time of year.
Streets such as San Juan, Strachan, Granada, Comedias and Alcazabilla are filled with decorations, music and people enjoying every corner. The terraces are lively, the shops stay open late and the atmosphere invites you to take your time.
The Alcazaba and the Roman Theatre, illuminated at night, add a magical touch to the walk.
