Alfarnate
In the Axarqu\u00eda, we find Alfarnate, a small town surrounded by rocky mountains that contrast with the olive and cherry plantations of its valley, offering landscapes of singular beauty. Strolling through its streets, of Arabic layout, brings us closer to a leisurely way of life where we can enjoy small twists, streets lined with flowers and squares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you visit, do not forget to have a wonderful lunch in one of the most traditional venta of the province, the Venta de Alfarnate, located two kilometers from the town and whose restaurant-museum recalls the passage through its rooms of illustrious diners such as the king Alfonso XIII or bandits like Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda “El Tempranillo” or Luis Candelas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also worth a visit is the Museum of Antique Toys in Alfarnate, an exhibition room located in the town hall itself that includes a collection of more than a hundred dolls and games manufactured since 1880.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Comares
Known as the Balc\u00f3n de la Axarqu\u00eda for being the highest municipality in the region, Comares is located between the region of Axarqu\u00eda and the Montes de M\u00e1laga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is essential to walk through its streets, which form a veritable maze of whitewashed houses and alleys. The views from any point of the municipality are impressive. Take a look at any of the viewpoints that are dotted around the town, such as the Mirador de la Plaza, where the Town Hall is located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Comares, within the municipalities that make up the Ruta de la Pasa, is also the cradle of one of the verdiales styles, the Comares Style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
J\u00fazcar
La Aldea Azul, as J\u00fazcar is known, is located in the Genal Valley, surrounded by mountains covered with chestnut and cork trees. Getting to this small town dyed in blue is already an adventure in itself. The road winds through the Genal Valley between chestnut and cork oak forests until it reaches this town, which was painted entirely in indigo for the world presentations of the Smurfs animation saga. A copyright problem changed “El Pueblo Pitufo” to “Aldea Azul”, and today J\u00fazcar offers numerous activities to enjoy your family visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of these activities is the graffiti route, made up of 14 urban interventions. Each one has a QR code that takes you to the next one and, at the end of the route, you discover a keyword. There is also an adventure route through the town to enjoy as a family as well as multiple workshops for children such as face painting, manicures or trampolines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Benarrab\u00e1
Located in the Genal Valley, Benarrab\u00e1 is known throughout the province for its gastronomy linked to the breeding of the Iberian pig. There are several sausage production companies that exist in the municipality, highlighting Ib\u00e9rico Aro. The municipality has various hiking routes located in the Great M\u00e1laga Path, such as the route through the Pasarelas del Genal, which has its arrival point in the municipality and which connects it with Venta San Juan, in the municipality of Jubrique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pujerra
The epicenter of the chestnut groves of the Genal Valley, Pujerra is another of the COVID-free towns in Malaga that you can enjoy this fall. Located in the Alto Valle del Genal, Pujerra is part of the well-known Copper Forest, offering until the month of December one of the most impressive autumn pictures in the interior of the province of Malaga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This town combines all the beauty of its Arab past with the ecological wealth of the Serran\u00eda de Ronda. In its streets you can get lost to find in the old square the bust of King Wamba, one of the Visigoth rulers, of Pujarre\u00f1o origin.
